The Paisley Pirates’ 2025/26 season came to an end after a hard-fought 4–2 defeat to the Edinburgh Capitals in the Playoff Semi-Final.

In a closely contested match, the Pirates stayed in the fight throughout but were unable to overturn the Capitals’ advantage. Goals from Ryan Parkin and Bari McKenzie kept the contest alive, with the side continuing to push until the final buzzer in front of a strong travelling support.

Netminder Daniel McGowan produced an outstanding performance between the pipes and was deservedly named Man of the Match, making a number of key saves to keep the Pirates within touching distance during crucial spells.

While the result brings the season to a close, it does not define what has been a determined and progressive campaign for the Paisley side.

Reaching the Playoff Semi-Finals reflects the continued development of the squad, with strong performances and resilience shown throughout both league and playoff competition.

The club also paid tribute to supporters who backed the team home and away across the season, with travelling fans again making their presence felt on the night.

The Pirates now turn their attention to building for the 2026/27 season.

Dundee Rockets went on to secure the Playoff Championship with a 7–4 victory over Edinburgh in the final.
